About Dr. Futerman

Education and Experience
Dr. Len Futerman earned both his undergraduate degree and Doctor in Dental Surgery from State University of New York at Stony Brook. In 2008, he completed his training and residency in Anesthesiology at New York City’s Mount Sinai Medical Center.

Since his licensing, Dr. Futerman has been a staff exodontist at Naval Medical Center in Portsmouth, and an associate dentist and surgeon in dental practices in Virginia and New York.

Certifications
Dr. Futerman is a Diplomat of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology; a Diplomat of the National Dental Board of Anesthesiology; an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists; and a Fellow of the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists. He has completed Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Support and Pediatric Life Support training.

He is one of just five board-certified dentist anesthesiologists in the state of Virginia and the only one in the Hampton Roads area.

Community Work
Operation SmileDr. Futerman is a donor and supporter of Operation Smile, a worldwide children’s charity which provides surgery for children with correctable facial deformities such as cleft lips, cleft palates, facial tumors and burns.

Dr. Futerman also volunteers his time providing dental services at the Chesapeake Care Free Clinic. The Clinic changes lives through education and compassionate healthcare for those who cannot afford care, do not qualify for other assistance and do not have health insurance.
