For Sedation Procedures

What to Expect During Your Visit to our Virginia Beach or Chesapeake Office

1. MEET THE STAFF

Come and take a tour of our modern sedation facilities. Your questions will be answered by our friendly, highly-trained doctors and staff.

2. WE MAKE A PLAN

You’ll be given an itemized list of any dental work that you require, along with alternative treatment options and a sedation plan catered specifically to you.

You will need to see your physician who will fill out your Pre-operative History & Physical to ensure you are optimized for office-based anesthesia, so we can get you the best care possible.

3. YOU MAKE A PLAN

Remember, when we say “sedation,” we mean it! You will need an escort to accompany you on the day of treatment.

Eat well because you won’t be able to have anything after midnight (unless directed by our anesthesiologists).

Dress comfy and leave those contact lenses at home. Download your preoperative instructions.

4. SIT BACK AND LET US DO THE WORK

5. RELAX AND RECOVER

You’ll be released into the care of your escort with written post-operative instructions and appropriate prescriptions. Your only responsibility should be to relax for the remainder of the day and recover with your brand-new smile!

6. ENJOY YOUR NEW SMILE

Pretty self-explanatory, but don’t forget to be the envy of all your friends.

What should I expect when getting sedated during my dentist appointment?

During your procedure, we’ll monitor your comfort level, so you have a totally relaxed and pleasant experience. You’ll leave with vague memories of a calm, easy visit and a wonderful new perspective on dental treatments.

How Much Does Sedation Dentistry Cost?

That’s a tough question to answer in a general way, as different patients have different needs. One thing we can say is that we will look very carefully at the costs of the procedures you require, and we will work very hard to keep those costs as reasonable and fair as possible. We also offer member discount plans, and financing is available through CareCredit. Please check with your insurance carrier if you have questions regarding your coverage.

How to know if your dentist is a quality dentist?

How can you tell? Here are some ways… First, your dentist cares about your comfort. They ask questions and listen to your answers. They respect your time and follow up to be sure you’re recovering properly. And, of course, they need to be certified and in good standing.

When should a person switch dentists?

Generally speaking, going to the dentist shouldn’t hurt. If your dentist is rough or causes you more than a little discomfort, it may be time to find another dental office with more compassionate care. If it’s the fear of pain you are worried about; sedation dentistry can make treatments less traumatic.
